What We've Been Up To
August 2025
We post projects on a monthly basis, regularly showing off the painting projects that we've tackled throughout the Portland area.

We completed a full repaint for this client years ago, and when they moved, they knew exactly who to call. This project involved a ton of masking! Older craftsman-style homes like this require a little extra care and time — and sometimes a slightly different approach to ensure another beautiful result.

I (Luke) was personally excited for this one! Many years ago, we painted the neighbor’s house — a spectacular project with bold colors that, in my opinion, became a true crown jewel of the neighborhood. It’s always a proud moment to drive by years later and see a home we painted still looking brand new. This time, the project was for the direct next-door neighbor. After a thorough, “you had us at hello” meeting, our team delivered another masterful repaint. Now there are two crown jewels shining side by side, brightening the whole street. Can’t wait to be back in this Tigard neighborhood again soon!
We had the opportunity to work on this beautiful manor in Portland. Our task was focused on the trim — and there was a lot of it! This project brought a handful of challenges that required some creative problem-solving. Our team put on their thinking caps to ensure every surface wasn’t just painted, but properly prepped, safely reached, and fully coated for lasting results. While the trim color remained the same, sometimes the smallest touches of care make the biggest difference. We love how refreshed and polished this home looks!

This longtime client called us back to take care of her new fence with some fresh stain along with a few other odds and ends. We love helping our clients keep their homes in top shape!

Another referral from a long-time, trusted client! These homeowners have taken exceptional care of their home since the day it was built, but the time had come to pass the torch on the more complex, higher-up work that requires ladder movements. That’s where we stepped in. With the same love and attention the home has received since its creation, we handled the prep and re-staining of the exterior it needed. Thank you for trusting us with your beautiful home!

After completing her father’s home, we moved on to take care of this client’s personal home in West Linn. This project turned out to be a rare occasion where we uncovered a handful of issues that no one was aware of until we really got into the details. Several small areas of dry rot were tucked away — hidden behind bushes and wrapped around high roof peaks. Thankfully, our amazing team caught them early and did what we do best: communicate. We took detailed photos and walked the clients through everything so they could fully understand and decide how they wanted to proceed. Fortunately, the issues were small enough for us to handle in-house, which meant another happy client and another home properly prepped and ready for whatever the PNW throws its way!

After collaborating with the talented Vanessa Rider of ColorMoxie, these homeowners were ready to bring their dream design to life — and they chose us to make it happen. With stunning new colors selected, we refreshed their home by repairing failed caulking, smoothing out peeling paint, and applying a flawless finish. Whenever we get to bring Vanessa’s vision to life, the results are nothing short of spectacular, and this project was no exception!

We painted her neighbor’s home a couple of years ago, and as time went on, it became clear her home was ready too. She called us to restore her beautiful Lake Oswego home to its former glory. Her trusty handyman had already taken care of the dry rot, so all we had to do was handle the basic prep and paint! We also stained her fence to complete the transformation and make everything feel new again.

This long-standing home has been through a lot, and it was time to give it the love and attention it deserved with an exterior repaint. We came highly recommended by another happy client — as so often happens — and were honored to be trusted with the project. Our team put its best foot forward to ensure every part of this little slice of heaven in the woods is protected and preserved for years to come.
Fence projects are often avoided by many painters, but we’re always happy to take them on — especially when we get a brand-new, fresh start like this! Even with newly installed fencing, it’s just as important to apply a wood brightener/cleaner first. This step sets the fence up for success and helps ensure the longest life possible in our tough PNW weather. Once it’s dry, our team applies one thorough saturation coat — done to perfection — and voilà! Not sure what a saturation coat is? Just ask us!

We have so many clients who are savvy DIYers — some of my favorite people to work with. It makes me so happy when they trust us with something they’ve already poured their time and attention into. This deck was a perfect example: beautifully maintained, just needing a little extra care. After replacing some older boards, the homeowner found us through a trusted friend (who we’ll also be working for again next month!). With a bit of cleaning, some prep, and a fresh coat of stain, this deck is now ready for good times and another long PNW winter.

It had been way too long since the home was painted and a lot of neighbors had gotten their homes painted in recent years. So this client was ready to join the trend in the neighborhood and get her home looking brand new again! We put a lot of time and attention into the prep on this one. There was a lot of cracked caulking and peeling paint that needed attention before we could paint. We also had a couple window frames that were rotted out, which our team replaced for her as well.

This was another home that had gone a little too long before being repainted. There were a few areas of dry rot that needed to be addressed and almost every seam of caulk needed to be redone. They picked a brand new color scheme for the new paint to really make everything look new and wonderful!

Another brand new beautiful cedar fence, cured and ready for our service! This client really wanted to seal the fence without changing the color as much as possible, so we chose a natural tone transparent stain to keep the look of the cedar as much as possible. Since we were only doing the one side of the fence, it was paramount that we take extra care to not have the stain wrap around onto the other side of the fence, which is easier said than done!

After getting new gutters installed, it was apparent the home needed more attention. There were some small paint failures along the fascia board where the old gutters used to be, and some caulking failures as well. The client loved her existing colors and simply wanted to protect the home before things got worse, which is an exceptionally smart way to save money! Repairs are costly, so she saved money in the long run by keeping up on maintenance, which included a paint refresh like we did here.

New and old cedar fencing met together on this project. The clients wanted to make things look as uniform as possible with a nice stain. We used a dark stain (one of our favorites, Armstrong-Clark in Chestnut), which beautifully blended both old and new wood. Read their review on Google.

All new fencing that has never been stained. We got all sides thoroughly cleaned and properly stained, giving the fence the finished look the clients were after.

What a fun project this was!! These clients were ready for a new look in one of their favorite rooms in the house. And when anyone is looking for show-stopping colors, there is no one better than Vanessa Rider with www.colormoxienw.com. New colors, new design, one beautiful painting project taken care of.

This marks our 10th project with this client — a great long-term relationship we’re proud of! They recently purchased and installed a beautiful custom wood front door and sidelight, and we were brought in to finish it. These types of projects are always a unique challenge: priming bare wood, caulking every seam, and spraying two colors inside and out — all while not being onsite for other work. That can make for an inefficient project due to all the necessary dry times… but here’s the good news: when you know your products, have access to the right specialty primers, and follow a refined, proven system, even these tricky projects can be completed efficiently and with stunning results.

It had been several years since this home was painted, and the HOA was getting ready to insist it was time. There was some repair work to do and color fade, but the clients still liked the original color. After several days of prep, we freshened up the home with the same trusted colors, breathing new life in their beloved home.

We came back for round 2 with this interior! See the first part of interior painting in this home here. This time we did a full repaint in the detached in-law unit, and took care of a couple projects in the main home as well while we were there. We will be back for round 3 in the near future.

Like so many of our clients, they had some windows repaired and wanted to get everything sealed, though they weren’t quite ready for a full exterior repaint of their Beaverton home. We got all the trim on the home refreshed so it looked consistent with the new window frames.

Last year, we stripped and stained their neighbor’s home right next door with the same design for the front of the house. They loved it so much that they had us out this year to take care of their front! We cleaned all the natural wood and gave it a fresh coat of stain.
