What We've Been Up To
July 2025
We post projects on a monthly basis, regularly showing off the painting projects that we've tackled throughout the Portland area.

It had been way too long since the home was painted and a lot of neighbors had gotten their homes painted in recent years. So this client was ready to join the trend in the neighborhood and get her home looking brand new again! We put a lot of time and attention into the prep on this one. There was a lot of cracked caulking and peeling paint that needed attention before we could paint. We also had a couple window frames that were rotted out, which our team replaced for her as well.

This was another home that had gone a little too long before being repainted. There were a few areas of dry rot that needed to be addressed and almost every seam of caulk needed to be redone. They picked a brand new color scheme for the new paint to really make everything look new and wonderful!

Another brand new beautiful cedar fence, cured and ready for our service! This client really wanted to seal the fence without changing the color as much as possible, so we chose a natural tone transparent stain to keep the look of the cedar as much as possible. Since we were only doing the one side of the fence, it was paramount that we take extra care to not have the stain wrap around onto the other side of the fence, which is easier said than done!

After getting new gutters installed, it was apparent the home needed more attention. There were some small paint failures along the fascia board where the old gutters used to be, and some caulking failures as well. The client loved her existing colors and simply wanted to protect the home before things got worse, which is an exceptionally smart way to save money! Repairs are costly, so she saved money in the long run by keeping up on maintenance, which included a paint refresh like we did here.

New and old cedar fencing met together on this project. The clients wanted to make things look as uniform as possible with a nice stain. We used a dark stain (one of our favorites, Armstrong-Clark in Chestnut), which beautifully blended both old and new wood. Read their review on Google.

All new fencing that has never been stained. We got all sides thoroughly cleaned and properly stained, giving the fence the finished look the clients were after.

This marks our 10th project with this client — a great long-term relationship we’re proud of! They recently purchased and installed a beautiful custom wood front door and sidelight, and we were brought in to finish it. These types of projects are always a unique challenge: priming bare wood, caulking every seam, and spraying two colors inside and out — all while not being onsite for other work. That can make for an inefficient project due to all the necessary dry times… but here’s the good news: when you know your products, have access to the right specialty primers, and follow a refined, proven system, even these tricky projects can be completed efficiently and with stunning results.

It had been several years since this home was painted, and the HOA was getting ready to insist it was time. There was some repair work to do and color fade, but the clients still liked the original color. After several days of prep, we freshened up the home with the same trusted colors, breathing new life in their beloved home.

We came back for round 2 with this interior! See the first part of interior painting in this home here. This time we did a full repaint in the detached in-law unit, and took care of a couple projects in the main home as well while we were there. We will be back for round 3 in the near future.

Like so many of our clients, they had some windows repaired and wanted to get everything sealed, though they weren’t quite ready for a full exterior repaint of their Beaverton home. We got all the trim on the home refreshed so it looked consistent with the new window frames.

Last year, we stripped and stained their neighbor’s home right next door with the same design for the front of the house. They loved it so much that they had us out this year to take care of their front! We cleaned all the natural wood and gave it a fresh coat of stain.

We painted the exterior of this client’s home and shop in Milwaukie. Their their review on Google!

Beautiful home on Bull Mountain. After seeing our trucks and vans go by so often they called us when it was finally time to paint their home. They took care of some repairs and got new gutters to go with a spectacular new color choice.

Moving into her new dream home, our client wanted to take advantage of the place being empty to get the walls refreshed prior to move day. We applied two coats to all walls throughout the whole home to really make the space her own.

This client had new windows installed, and it just happened to be time to repaint the whole exterior anyway, so they called Pearl Painters! Read their review on Google.

We painted the full interior of this home a few years back, so when it came time to tackle the exterior, the homeowners didn’t hesitate to call us again. Like many homes in the Pacific Northwest, the front had taken a beating from the sun—faded color, peeling paint, cracked caulking, and exposed wood were all signs it was overdue for some serious attention. Proper prep on a project like this takes hours of detailed work, but the payoff is huge. With fresh colors and expert preparation, this home now looks stunning and is fully protected against whatever the PNW weather throws at it.
This Sherwood home had held up remarkably well considering how long it had been since its last paint job—credit where it’s due to the previous painters! We handled the light scraping, priming, and caulking that was needed, then sprayed and backrolled the wood siding for a smooth, even finish. Now it’s sealed, protected, and looking sharp for many more years to come.
Referral from Vanessa Rider at Color Moxie
After a fantastic design consultation with the talented Vanessa Rider at Color Moxie NW, our clients had a bold new color palette ready to bring their home to life. We handled a few minor dry rot repairs around the window frames—nothing our crew hasn’t seen before. With smart prep and skilled execution, this home now turns heads on every block.
This home was in solid shape overall, but the front façade—baked by the sun day in and day out—needed a refresh to get it market-ready. Inside, we brightened up a dark bedroom that wasn’t doing the listing any favors. With curb appeal restored and the interior looking much more buyer-friendly, these clients are now ready to list and head off to their next adventure: a new job and fresh start in California.

After living with the new front office colors for a bit, the client took some time to reflect and decided it was time for a few final updates. They asked us back to finish the space—this time replacing the remaining brown tones with a cooler, more inviting color palette. The result is a lighter, fresher office that feels much more welcoming.

We’ve been maintaining this Ipe deck for years, keeping it looking its best through the ups and downs of Pacific Northwest weather. With hardwoods like Ipe, that freshly stained look doesn’t last long in our rainy climate—but we’ve got the process down to a science. A quick cleaning followed by a fresh coat of stain is all it takes to restore its rich, like-new appearance year after year.

These longtime clients have a stunning Ipe deck that deserved some attention. Before we arrived, they had it professionally cleaned by the company they regularly use for maintenance. Our role was to come in and carefully hand-apply a premium UV-resistant stain across every inch of the walking surface—reviving the natural beauty of this showpiece and ensuring it stays protected. For this project, we recommended Messmer’s UV Plus for Hardwoods in the rich, warm Red Mahogany tone. It’s a stain that’s specifically formulated for hardwoods like Ipe and delivers both depth of color and long-term protection. Learn more about it here.
