Every year, we complete dozens of exterior painting projects, including staining projects, across the Portland area. Some are straightforward refreshes, others are full transformations, and a few really push our team to its limits in the best way possible. Looking back on 2025, these nine projects stood out, not just because of how they look, but because of the stories behind them, the challenges we solved, and the trust our clients placed in us.
1. Oregon City – A Thoughtful Color Change Done Right
This project was a great reminder that communication is everything. The homeowners loved their home but were ready for a new color and a fresh look. During the estimate, we spent extra time walking through the process, setting expectations, and clearly defining what was within our scope, and what wasn’t. There were signs of potential interior water damage near the front door, so we made sure to have an honest conversation about that upfront. No overpromising, no surprises. Just a clear plan and a beautiful end result.
2. Tigard – A Return Client, Now Outside
We had painted the interior of this home years ago, so when it came time for the exterior, we got the call. That’s always meaningful for us. The home needed a full refresh. New colors, detailed prep, and some dry rot repair. This was a classic example of a well-rounded exterior project where doing the prep work right made all the difference in the final result.
3. Sherwood – The 500-Hour Transformation
This was one of the biggest projects of the year. Over 500 hours went into bringing this home back to life. It had been a long time since the last paint job, and it showed. Our team handled extensive scraping, sanding, priming, caulking, and masking before a single finish coat went on. Projects like this aren’t quick, but when done right, they completely reset the lifespan of the home’s exterior.
4. Beaverton – A Stunning Refinished Deck
These clients were on top of maintaining their deck, and ensured that damaged boards were replaced when needed. But that stark difference between brand new wood and seasoned, repeatedly stained wood is difficult to DIY stain. Luckily, they reached out to us to accomplish a beautiful, even deck staining job! Check out the photos below to see the difference professional deck staining makes.
5. Sherwood – When Good Bones Pay Off
Not every project requires heavy repair work. This home had held up impressively well over time, which speaks volumes about the previous paint job. We focused on light prep like scraping, priming, and caulking, and then sprayed and backrolled the siding for a clean, even finish. It’s always nice when a home just needs the right touch to look great again.
6. Portland – Sun Damage Recovery
In the Pacific Northwest, we talk a lot about rain, but sun exposure can be just as damaging. The front of this home had taken a beating: faded paint, peeling areas, cracked caulking, and exposed wood. Proper prep was critical here, and it took time. But once everything was sealed and repainted, the transformation was dramatic. This home is now protected and ready for whatever comes next.
7. Molalla – A Home in the Woods, Preserved
This project came to us through a referral, which is how many of our favorite jobs start. The home had seen years of wear and needed a full repaint to protect it moving forward. Homes in more rural, wooded environments face unique challenges, and this one was no exception. Our goal here was simple: protect the home and preserve it for years to come.
8. Tigard – Bringing a Design Vision to Life
Whenever we collaborate with Vanessa Rider from ColorMoxie, we know it’s going to be something special. This project involved a full exterior refresh with a brand-new color palette. Along the way, we repaired failed caulking, addressed peeling paint, and delivered a clean, polished finish. The end result speaks for itself. This is what happens when great design and solid execution come together.
9. Portland – Treating That New Fence Right
Whenever you get brand new fencing installed, we highly recommend treating it to make sure it lasts as long as possible. These homeowners in Portland brought us out to do just that for their new fencing, giving it a new look while providing lasting protection with a wood brightener followed by a saturation coat. This new fencing is newly stained and ready to last through the seasons!
10. Portland – The Power of Detail
This project was all about trim, and there was a lot of it. Large, detailed homes like this require careful planning and creative problem-solving, especially when it comes to access and prep. Even though the color stayed the same, the level of care that went into the process made a huge difference. It’s proof that sometimes the smallest details have the biggest impact.
11. Full Transformation – The Impact of Color
Sometimes, all it takes is the right color. This homeowner was ready for a completely new look, and we helped guide the design and execution from start to finish. The transformation was dramatic, but also a great reminder that a simpler, more intentional color scheme can completely change how a home feels.
Every one of these projects is different, but they all share a few key things: clear communication, proper preparation, and a commitment to doing the job right. Whether it’s a massive 500-hour repaint or a straightforward refresh, the process matters just as much as the final coat of paint.
If you’re thinking about painting your home’s exterior, take your time upfront. Ask questions. Understand the process. And make sure you’re working with a team that’s willing to be honest about what your home actually needs.
If that sounds like what you’re looking for, we’d be happy to help.
