Transforming Scott & Kevin’s New Condo in the Pearl District

At Pearl Painters, we take immense pride in helping our clients transform their spaces into homes they love. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with Scott and Kevin, two new homeowners in the Pearl District of Portland. This project was as much about logistics as it was about painting their interior. A complete interior project like this has to be approached differently in a condo than it would in a house, and fortunately we have the experience that made it a very straightforward process for everyone.

The Challenge of Painting a Condo

Scott and Kevin had just purchased their dream condo in the Pearl District and were thrilled to move back to their favorite part of Portland. However, the condo’s walls, ceilings, and trim were a bit too dark for their liking. They wanted to bring in more light, while allowing space to add their own flair without relying on the colors that came with the paint the condo had chosen.

On top of that, the tight timeline and their building’s HOA requirements added a layer of complexity. They needed a painting contractor who could not only deliver high-quality results but also navigate the HOA approval process and stick to their strict timeline.

Why They Chose Pearl Painters

Scott and Kevin found us through the recommended vendor list at their condominium building. What sealed the deal for them was our glowing reviews and the confidence we inspired during our initial meeting. Luke, our project estimator, made time for a quick meeting, provided a clear and detailed bid on the spot, and ensured that all necessary documents and insurance were ready for HOA approval. Our professionalism and responsiveness gave Scott and Kevin the assurance they needed to trust us with their home.

Crafting the Solution

This project required meticulous planning and precise execution to meet the deadline. From coordinating with the building’s loading dock to priming and painting almost every surface in the condo, our team worked efficiently and effectively to ensure everything was completed before the moving truck arrived.

Key steps in the process included:

1. Keep Everything Organized

We ensured all tools and materials were prepped and ready to minimize disruption to the building’s residents. Our team set up a base camp inside the unit to avoid multiple trips and maximize efficiency.

2. Detailed Prep Work

Floors were carefully covered to protect the brand-new surfaces. We addressed mild wall and ceiling damage, prepped and primed the trim, and applied primer to dark accent walls.

3. Exceptional Painting

Once the prep work was complete, we painted walls, ceilings, and trim to match Scott and Kevin’s vision, creating a cohesive and inviting space. We have a detailed painting process that our team follows, ensuring that every painting project is consistently high quality.

4. Thorough Inspection

Before wrapping up, we conducted our standard blue tape inspection to ensure every detail met both our team’s high standards and the clients’ expectations. This simply involves walking around with the clients and marking every single tiny flaw with blue tape, making it easy to go back and perfect our work before we pack up.

Delivering Peace of Mind

Scott and Kevin’s relief was palpable. Knowing the project was on track and receiving daily text updates kept them stress-free during a potentially overwhelming time. They were delighted to move into a freshly painted condo that truly felt like their own.

Here’s what they had to say about their experience: “Being able to trust that everything would be done on time before the moving truck arrived was huge. The daily updates were so reassuring, and the inspection process gave us confidence that everything was perfect. We’re thrilled with the results and so happy to call this place home!”

Mission Accomplished

Helping Scott and Kevin achieve their vision was a rewarding experience for our team. At Pearl Painters, we thrive on turning challenges into triumphs, and this project was a perfect example of how organization, communication, and craftsmanship can come together to create something beautiful.
