What We've Been Up To
March 2025
We post projects on a monthly basis, regularly showing off the painting projects that we've tackled throughout the Portland area.
Second time client; referral from Regi at Renewal by Andersen
Our second project for this client. They have been replacing windows a section at a time with Renewal by Andersen, and as soon as they are ready, we come in and take care of the interior. Everything is a sprayed finish, which they want to keep, so we have taken the time to create mini spray booths for each window in each area. Exterior to come next!
Second time client. They originally found us on Google and read our reviews.
Our second project for this client. They are moving back to their home state, and needed the home ready to put on the market ASAP. There were dents, dings, and other damage throughout the home from over the years, plus several touch-up spots that didn’t match very well. So we made the walls uniform throughout and touched up the natural finished trim that had chips and cracked finish, soft washed the exterior to get rid of mildew and algae growth, and touched up a section of exterior from a tree scraping against the side. Now the home is ready to list and bring top dollar for them!
This is our seventh project for this client, and their third house/property. This project is in a beach house rental on the coast in Rockaway Beach. She had been doing updates on everything else as a DIYer, but knew that a cabinet project was something that needed to be done by a professional. She wanted new colors that were more updated with current design trends, as they were dark natural wood and she wanted an updated modern look.

Looking to paint the last portion of old oak cabinets in their kitchen. They had countertops they were happy with and black trim on some of their cabinets and wanted to pick a color to tie into that without just being white. The idea is to sell potentially down the road, so color was really important. We wanted a color they would be happy with still, but not so unique it inhibits selling. We were able to create a sample board to get them a nice visual they would be happy with. They had gone to a home show and had a few bids, however they didn’t get the total warm fuzzies and wanted an outside opinion. We were more expensive, but much more thorough, and they really wanted to make sure it was done right the first time, so it was the last time.

Recently moved into beautiful NE Portland home and have been slowly making it their own. They added a corner cabinet set into their existing kitchen, complete with natural wood countertop that they wanted stained to match the newly finished walnut flooring. They were concerned about smell and matching the finish on the current cabinets. We explained our process and went over ventilation options to keep the smell down. Since the new cabinets were raw wood, we applied 2 coats of primer to add some build to the new cabinets to better match the current finish on their current cabinets.
Third time client. Originally found us from a sign in the neighborhood and our Google reviews.
This is our third project for this client, as they have been doing their interior in stages. Moved in just a few years ago, we took care of the exterior first after a lackluster experience with another painting company. They have been clearing out portions of their home to get the walls transitioned from textured to smooth wall. As soon as the next portion is ready they call us to come take care of the next portion. This project portion included the kitchen, hall, and stairwell. It’s become quite the nice system and we look forward to working on the next section.
They loved where they lived but needed a change. The walls were especially worn down, showing nail pops, cracks, stains, and old nail holes. They wanted to repair the space and change the color to make their home more how they wanted it to feel. They thought about doing it themselves, but between the vaulted ceilings, repair, and timing, they looked into a professional paint job. For timing, they had busy work/school schedules and dogs, they didn’t want to have this project dragging out weekend after weekend. We were able to have this project done for them in 3 days.
The kitchen island had taken a beating over the years, showing not only dents and damages, but swelling on the MDF drawers. She loved the color but hated how the swelling damage made her kitchen look and feel. Because MDF is not real solid wood, once it’s exposed to moisture and it swells up it cannot be fixed. So we had our friend Jacob Feenstra, owner of Restoration Cabinetry & Design, make some new real wood drawers for us to finish to not only complete the look for this client, but help prevent swelling issues in the future.
Referral from our Window Partner Regi at Renewal by Andersen
They had a window leak in their living room. Renewal by Anderson replaced the window and then referred us to do the finish work after the replacement. This client trusted Renewal completely, and was pleasantly surprised to have us be equally as trustworthy, since her contracting experiences unfortunately have not always been the best.

This client had lived with a tiny 8×10 kitchen for years, with a big family that likes to cook. We were hired by Chris Congdon, the general contractor, to paint this kitchen. To achieve this client’s dream kitchen, they expanded the size and changed the layout in this full kitchen remodel project. Our job was to prep and paint walls, ceilings, and trim, and paint brand new cabinets.
Water leak ruined her ceiling and part of her wall. She hired Oswego Drywall (a referral partner of ours, though she had already called them!) to cut and patch some holes. Oswego drywall provided us with a chunk of ceiling to color match. We came in after the patching, spot primed the patches, and painted the ceiling. And we managed to get it all done in a day. She needed someone responsive and someone she could trust and we delivered!
